Alejandro Valverde gave up 18 seconds at the U.S. broker of Garmin, Tom Danielson, ranking fourth in the fourth stage of the Tour of Burgos, a 15-kilometer individual time trial starting and finishing in Roa.
Alejandro is the third overall, 5 seconds of that Danielson has been a leader in addition to the stage and entered a second of Danny Pate, Garmin another American, now second overall.
The rider from Murcia is ideally positioned on the eve of the last stage to be played tomorrow between Pine and Sandstone of the height of the Lagunas de Neila, for a distance of 155 miles where runners have to climb five ports before reaching goal.
"My feelings in this time trial were not the best but have not been bad.
Also if I am aware of being ideally placed in the general on the eve of the last stage, I forget that I am here primarily in order to prepare for the Tour of Spain.
There are still twenty days and although I need to work a little longer to get to one hundred percent, I think I'm very good way of facing the Spanish race.
Today, I advanced specialists in the discipline in a course that suited me very well either.
Tomorrow will be more suitable field for my characteristics.
I'll go out very motivated but I know it will not be easy to get the victory because we are a dozen runners in about thirty seconds and certainly all to the final fight. "
