An exact replica of the sculpture "Tribute to Nursing" which can be seen in front of the main facade of the Hospital Reina Sofia is also today at City Hall.
The president of the College of Nursing in the Region of Murcia, Diego Gutierrez, accompanied by the other members of its Governing Board, wanted to deliver the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, a reproduction of the sculpture by Miguel Llamas and donated to the city to commemorate the centenary of the establishment of this professional body.
Murcia is becoming a city of reference for urban art and the College of Nursing, coinciding with the anniversary, wanted to contribute.
Now, as explained by its President, Diego Gutierrez has been his intention that the sculpture, which since May can be seen on the streets of Murcia, stay well within the City.
The mayor, who in the opening ceremony held last May and thanked the College of Nursing its "generous donation" to the urban heritage of the city, has returned to express his gratitude to the collective health, in this occasion, we have sent again recognition.
The sculpture installed in front of Reina Sofia University Hospital plays in a steel plate 25 mm thick in the area of the harp, with a polished patina and a head substrate treated with manganese bronze when applied to the left with its golden color .
The curvature provides a gesture of leaning forward, so as to cater to another, a maternal gesture, to care for another, a feature of the nursing profession.
The blades represent formerly had crossed strips of nurses scrubs, in front view.
