Art out of museums and exhibition halls to make the streets and squares of cities in their natural setting.
Thus, pedestrians roam the center of Murcia will meet until 31 May with the exhibition "The towers of the Alhambra, the painter and sculptor Christopher Gabarrón.
The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, the president of the territorial council in Murcia Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martinez, accompanied by the artist, opened this afternoon's show, which has been organized by the Municipality, CAM and Fundación Casa Pintada.
This is a collection of 16 sculptures of between 5.90 and 3.20 meters, made of fiberglass with color maclación whose maximum weight does not exceed 400 kg, each supported by a metal base of 600 kg.
The color and shape are the guidelines that inspired this sculptural series, referring to one of the most important monuments of Moorish architecture in the world.
The works can be seen starting today at the Plaza de Santo Domingo (5 works), Tatters (1), Plaza de la Cruz (1), Sculptor Salzillo (2), Plaza Cardenal Belluga (1) and Glorieta de Spain (6 .)

The artist thus provides a work in homage to the Alhambra, which makes a magical interpretation of the events, which imagines or invents-occurred over time in such defense and lookout towers.

The Mayor has defined Gabarrón as "one of the outstanding ambassadors of Murcia in the world through art" and has referred to the exhibition as "an expression and an explosion of creativity that will delight those who have the opportunity to contemplate ".
The works on exhibit "The towers of the Alhambra" are not the only opportunity to see a statue of Christopher Gabarrón in the city.
Since autumn 2006, one of the Bowers Avenue Juan de Borbon is embellished with the work "frou", with which Murcia commemorated 25 years of the Tajo-Segura, thus paying homage to water.
