The Pop Art movement or the New Figuration born in the mid 50's, probably due to saturation of abstract painting and the new concern posed by the interaction between real and painted objects.

It tries to find simple and recognizable images to elevate the status of art.

The work became another object of the American dream.

The artists bet on the representation of objects in everyday conformist world of consumption and advertising.

United States was the first proponent of this movement that swept Europe.

Spain, although belatedly, has an important group of artists who belong to Pop Art and New Figuration, as the Chronicle group.
