Reinforcement of the Civil Guard in the city of Murcia with the addition of 10 new agents in the post Torreagüera (29/09/2008)

The government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, this morning the 10 new Civil Guards who have joined Torreagüera Barracks in the town of Murcia.

Tovar Gonzalez recalled that the barracks had Torreagüera in 1995 with 11 agents and staff that remained stagnant for eight years until 2004.

Later, during the first term of President Zapatero had 3 new members, so that was the headquarters with a staff of 14 troops.

Also reported that last August, 10 new civil guard in a stable workforce, which currently Torreagüera headquarters has 24 personnel, which represents an increase over 2004 of 118.18 percent.

The Government delegate stressed that, at present, staff from different quarters in the municipality of Murcia since 2004 have increased by 82.14 percent, from 28 to 51 officers in the headquarters of the municipality, without take into account the increase in the headquarters of the Guardia Civil.

"Undoubtedly this is a historic increase in the municipality of Murcia, which demonstrates a clear commitment of the Government of Spain to improve the safety of all Murcia," he stated.

At the same time, Gonzalez Tovar has stated that this increase may also be considered historic in reference to the staff of the National Police in the past four years has increased by 67.56 percent in the police station in Murcia.

Security infrastructure of the City of Murcia

Regarding the security situation in the municipality of Murcia, the government delegate said that the Ministry of Interior is increasing significantly the number of troops, something that belongs to the Government of Spain unique.

1 .- Torreagüera Barracks

The Government delegate reported that the Infrastructure and Facilities Management for State Security (Giese) is the Municipality of Murcia offer a lot in this hamlet to build new headquarters of the Guardia Civil.
