A student and 2nd year of secondary school 'Miguel de Cervantes' de Murcia, Luis Alberto Martínez Marín, gets the silver medal at the Second International Olympiad Iberoamericana Biology held recently at the University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
The Ministry of Education, Training and Employment in collaboration with the Association of Biologists of the Region of Murcia and the Faculty of Biology, has organized two years ago the Regional Olympiad Biology.
Students in Murcia selected subsequently to participate in the national phase is chosen from participating in the Olympics International, aimed at students in the 2nd year of Bachelor of Science in order to motivate young people to study science, especially Biology is an emerging area in our society.
The Third Ibero-American Olympiad will be held next year in Spain, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where he will attend the neighboring countries.
