Murcia City Council, through the Department for Development Cooperation, who heads Remigio Lopez, will provide urgent humanitarian aid to Cuba and Haiti to help alleviate the effects of Hurricanes Ike and Gustav.

This agreement was adopted this morning in the House by the Municipal Corporation as a whole (PP, PSOE, IU-LV).

Responsible for Development Cooperation stressed that the city of Murcia will express to the Governments of Cuba and Haiti, through their embassies or consulates, the solidarity of the municipality of Murcia.

Also, the City of Murcia will be forwarded to both countries so that they provide the most urgent needs that require that the municipality of Murcia can help mitigate the disaster.
