The Mayor requires Development to ensure the accessibility of the districts affected by the highway Santomera-Zeneta (20/09/2008)

The requirement of the Municipal People's Party led by the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, to ensure the Ministry of Development Communication of El Raal, Stables and the future Highway Zeneta Santomera-Zeneta will be discussed and adopted in plenary that the Corporation held on Thursday, August 25.

This is one of the resolutions adopted yesterday in his meeting the Mayor, accompanied by Councilman Planning and Urban Design, Fernando Berberena-members of municipal boards and employers in the three affected districts.

The motion, which will be raised by the Mayor of the city, raises the need to urge the Ministry of Development to include in the planned route of the highway, at least, a new link road to enable communication with the MU-regional road 330, with a corresponding connection via the road F-2, also expanding the central node only communication with the road planned F-10 (Azarbe Shore Road), thus fulfilling the commitments made publicly by leaders of all Administrations, and the benefit of the affected villages.

Four links before the intervention of Development

The project of "highway connecting the A-7 in the County Santomera del Mar Menor" was approved by the Autonomous Region in December 2004.

Envisaged in the same path with 12 km 2-lane dual carriageway in each direction separated by central reserve and six links to other roads, two knots for the original (with the A-7) and final (future Highway the Reguerón), and the remaining four links with existing regional road: exit at Industrial Estate Santomera to road N-340 and MU-303 connections Monteagudo-The Esparragal, the road F-10 Bacons Bridge Access and finally, the MU-330 road, South Coast Road future.

These links are important road communication hubs in metropolitan structure of Murcia and close relations with the Comarca del Mar Menor.

However, once approved the Cooperation Agreement with the State Administration, the project was submitted to the Ministry of Development, which proceeded to unilaterally amend the various parameters of the same, reducing initially provided links to a single central link connection with the N-340 and MU-303.

As explained Miguel Angel House in plenary, that fact greatly impairs mobility scenario initially proposed, it was the result of a general consensus among all affected villages.

Following discussions with residents and industry in these localities, the team considers it necessary to highlight the discrepancy and urge Development to include in the draft measures that would allow a real improvement in road mobility in the city of Murcia and around population centers on the new motorway running.

To this end, the proposal to be submitted to the House considers it appropriate to incorporate, at least, a new link road to enable communication with the MU-330 road.

This would, from the previous road junction, insert a line of communication medium capacity for connection to the road F-2.

Moreover, we should expand the central node only communication with the road planned F-10 (Azarbe Shore Road) to provide affordable communications to the industrial zone is structured linear on that track.
