80 am volunteers will clean up three areas of the Valley (19/09/2008)

The City, through the Environmental Protection Service of the Department of Environment and Urban Quality, actively participates in the second regional campaign "Clean Up the World 2008."

"Clean Up the World is an international campaign since 1993, has achieved more than 40 million volunteers in more than one hundred countries around the world are involved each year to make their environment a cleaner, healthier .

Promoted by the UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), try to solve local problems with the same goal: clean degraded natural areas and raise awareness on the use of our waste, promoting joint action by companies, associations, school communities Governments ...

This campaign has already been developing for several years from the Volunteer Program in Natural Environment of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Planning.

For over 10 years, the city of Murcia is guiding the city policies on the principles of sustainable development.

As a result, significant progress has been made in protecting and improving the environment, with numerous awards and even European and global.

Continuing its commitment to the environment, this year joins Murcia initiative for the cleaning of three areas defined in The Valley (within the regional park Carrascoy-El Valle), during morning Saturday 20 September between 10 and 16 hours.

The bus will depart from the Square at 9.30 am, with 65 volunteers from around the county and 15 volunteers of the City Council, led by Councilwoman Urban Environment and Quality, Adela Martinez-cache.
