Preparations for ensuring security in the September Fair 2008 (02/09/2008)

As every year, the City of Murcia is preparing a comprehensive protection device to ensure the safety of Murcia and visitors who enjoy the various events of the Fair in September 2008.

Thus, all the templates Local Police, Fire and Civil Protection services provide prevention and safety over the 13 days of festivities.

This special security device will also have the support and cooperation of Red Cross.

Fair in September 2008 will start next Thursday, September 4, with the slope of the virgin Fuensanta, "and will last until Tuesday, September 16, with the traditional pilgrimage to the shrine.

Note that outside the program of festivities, from 17 to 25 September, will also host a series of activities that will have the safety and security services of the City of Murcia.

Local police

At the fairgrounds there will be a special device which local police is to ensure that the amusement of the attendees to develop without any incident.

Pilgrimage.

Undoubtedly, this is the most massive act of the September Fair.

As was done last year, the Local Police will allocate a group of plainclothes officers with the aim of increasing the effectiveness of regular service in uniform to patrol the various trade fairs, especially to certain types of crimes (burglary, thefts and crimes against intellectual property, etc.).

The garden of El Malecon will feature ten police daily, which will match the four officers not in uniform.

These troops will be added which serve to make the traffic courts before the Moors and Christians that are developed through the streets of the city.

Service Fire Fighting and Rescue

The provision to the Fair of September 2008 will consist of a total of 76 troops of Service Firefighting and Rescue (SEIS).

There will be a seal with a vehicle consisting of a corporal, a driver and two firefighters for the release of all fireworks.

The services will be composed of five volunteers and perform support tasks and collaboration with the local police.

In the case of the Bullfighting Festival, there will be 12 volunteers in each celebration, and will be present on campus from an hour before and one hour after it is finished.

Pilgrimage.

From 6:00 am will start the deployment of Civil Defence volunteers.

Staff who provide their services in this event will be a hundred volunteers in the following groups:

Group specializing in mountain rescue (eight volunteers).

Health group (14 volunteers).

Command center and transmission (five volunteers and the head of Civil Protection Service).

36 volunteers (couples) will be deployed from the slope of the Labrador, Powder area, Seminar and around Los Teatinos.
