In order to offer smaller town a recreational and educational summer period, the City of Murcia has organized this year a total of 85 summer schools, which have about 5,000 students participated in Murcia.
Of the total of summer schools organized by the Municipality of Murcia, 35 have taken place in public schools (organized by AMPAS, municipal services, associations and federations), and developed during July.
The deadlines for these activities has been on July 31 as the parents requested their instances.
The schedule has been from 9 to 14 hours, except in schools organized by Social Services, which was the evening hours (15 to 20 hours).
Cultural centers have been offered a total of 31 summer schools, which have been involved 1,700 children from kindergarten and primary.
Social Services has prepared a summer 39 schools, 15 public schools with an offer of 1,700 places for nursery and primary schools, a school for 30 public school teenagers in San Andrés.
All have been held throughout the month of July, except that which took place in St. Pius X, which lasted until the first week of August.
The AMPAS eleven schools have organized summer and have offered a total of thousand people.
For children with special needs and severely affected have also received specific summer schools organized jointly between the city of Murcia and ASTRAPACE.

Camps and exchanges
But the leisure and education offered by the City of Murcia for the summer has not only focused on the celebration of nursery schools.
The Department of Education has offered in its summer camps for school places 3 rd to 6 th grade, in which participated a total of 744 pupils in the municipality, in activities held outside the municipality of Murcia.
