The Spokesman of the Municipal Group PP, Nuria Fuentes, file a motion to the House of the Corporation to be held next Thursday in which they agreed to "request the National Government with the full implementation of the diversion of the Ebro basin to the Mediterranean" both Catalonia (Barcelona) currently under contract, like Valencia, Murcia and Almeria Province.

The proposal arises from the Ebro transfer recovery by the government of the nation to Barcelona and the broad consensus that has been obtained.

In the same vein, the initiative of the Municipal People's Party shows its support for the recovery of the Ebro transfer to areas with water supply needs of the Mediterranean area (Valencia, Murcia, Almeria and Castellón) as required by the Hydrological Plan of 2001.

The deal that sources subject to the House for approval includes the requirement to the National Government "respect the constitutional principle of equality of all Spanish" and non-discrimination of anyone based on their place of residence, ideas or opinions, sharing natural resources, including water is found among all Spanish.

In this regard, will "appeal to the society of our municipalities to support and uphold the principle of Universal Water for All, without discrimination or exclusion.

For justice, equality and solidarity. "

The motion of the Municipal People's Party in the city of Murcia also provides for the need to encourage the governments of the autonomous regions of Valencia and Murcia to expand and consolidate the construction of pipelines to ensure proper utilization of the waters of the Ebro surplus in similar conditions to the Ebro transfer to Barcelona.

Nuria Fuentes recalled that the shortage of water that supports Segura Basin has historically determined the demand for stable and lasting solutions to ensure a steady supply of water needed to ensure the quality of life and employment in Murcia.

The security of water supply can only be done by external water management, by transfers or diversions as the Tajo-Segura current or obtaining fresh water from salt water.

"Our structural deficit can only be solved by water transfers or contributions from external basins with surplus, as stipulated in the National Hydrological Plan of 2001," the spokesperson concluded Municipal People's Party.
