The PSOE proposes with Jesus Dropped the launch of a service to homeless people who need hospital care (11/02/2016)

The Municipal Socialist Group spokesman, Jose Ignacio Gras, and Councilwoman Susan Hernandez, visited Thursday the premises of Jesus forsaken on the road from Santa Catalina to discuss the Social Health Service Support in reception centers that the organization Extended Stay It intends to launch by 50,000 euros extended by the PSOE in the budget this year.

"Currently, when a homeless person in our town is hospitalized and given discharge, he has to stay in hospital for convalescence because he has nowhere else to go. What Jesus Forsaken and the Socialist Group we propose is that the 50,000 euros that have included in the budget for this organization, are intended for these people to receive that care after discharge in a shelter for long stay, "said the socialist mayor.

According to official data, in 2015 the Health Service of Murcia disbursed 601 euros per person per day of hospitalization.

"We are talking about a very significant amount if multiplied by all the people who remain admitted throughout the year. With much less Jesus Forsaken could offer ten places throughout the year so that these people receive care and rest they need. The hospital spending ten people for one month would satisfy those people in Jesus Forsaken for a year, "Hernandez noted.

Councillor of the Socialist Group has announced that tomorrow Friday hold a meeting with the Councillor for Social Rights to put on the table this service.

"We are convinced that it will succeed. This is a necessary service already provided to foreigners and would provide decent care to a greater number of people in need."

"After visiting this center is more evident the need to launch this service and other programs aimed at helping those who pass it worse. Anyone can be seen in a situation of poverty and / or social exclusion at some point in their life. we must be aware of this harsh reality and make available to those who most need the tools to succeed, "he concluded.
