The service does not represent a cost to the municipal coffers, thanks to an agreement between the municipality materialized, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Integra Foundation.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the Minister of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment, Juan Hernandez, today signed the agreement that Murcia became the first municipality in the region which shows the full in streaming and stored for delayed broadcast within the REPLAY project.

"From the first extraordinary session of the new municipal corporation, we broadcast plenary sessions in real time through the municipal website, fulfilling our commitment and putting new technologies at the service of transparency and public participation, two essential principles for good public health institutions, "said José Ballesta.

In this regard, he added that "storage and recoverability of such full for later viewing, is a continuation of this pioneering initiative throughout the region that also does not represent a cost to the municipal coffers, thanks to an agreement with the Ministry and the Integra Foundation. "

The agreement, which also was attended by the Councillor for Administration Modernisation, Urban Quality and Participation, Jose Guillen, is expanding the services of the Network of Science and Technology CTNet, which is affiliated with the city of Murcia for use of their services free of charge streaming multimedia content publishing and audiovisual editing.

So, CTNet, which already provides access to the Internet in 'Smart Classrooms' municipal, also put their streaming servers available to the City Council, using ultra-fast network connection provides, through the initiative REPLAY ( Plenary broadcasts of local councils on the Internet).

The next step will be the publication of the recording of plenary sessions with links to the various segmented parts, depending on the items on the agenda and interventions.

Currently, we are evaluating possible technical solutions to this initiative, which is a challenge due to the long duration of the municipal plenary.

"There can be no real and serving Murcia without effective social participation and transparency of public institutions policy.

Therefore, we continue to work to open channels that allow the active involvement of all Murcia in decision-making, "said the mayor.
