Murcia celebrates people facing cancer with the planting of the Tree of Life on the Malecon (06/02/2016)

150 rose bushes have been planted and AECC unveiled a commemorative plaque at the World Cancer Day, which this year celebrated under the motto "If you think you're alone, we do not know '.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, the Minister of Health, Encarna Guillen, and the president of the Provincial Board in Murcia of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), Agustin Navarrete, participated last February 4 in the commemoration of World Cancer day, which included planting a total of 150 rose bushes and a tree in the Gardens of Malecon, as a tribute to all those who have faced this disease.

"The Tree of Life is a symbolic act that aim to contribute to giving greater visibility to the work of the AECC in Murcia and the commendable task of their household, hospital and testimonial volunteers who guide and support to those affected in this fight for life, with his experience and deep affection, "said José Ballesta during this tribute to the more than one hundred people joined, and which was also attended by councilors Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, Jose Guillen;

and Health and Sports, Felipe Coello.

The Association, which celebrates the World Cancer Day 2016, under the motto "If you think you're alone, we do not know ', has also discovered a plaque commemorating all those who have suffered some type of diagnosis.

Murcia City Council has collaborated with the AECC in the first edition of the Tree of Life in the city of Murcia giving a flower bed in a garden emblematic of the capital, such as El Malecon as well as the delivery of 150 rosebushes Seville municipal nurseries and tree Lila Persia, precisely replaces a previous issue, thereby restoring a symbolic element of the garden.
