Murcia's change requests that the City Council require economic compensation for the Rotondas case (03/02/2016)

Councilman Sergio Ramos Murcia's change today urged the City Council to demand financial compensation for the damage resulting from the alleged crimes that were committed with the installation of sculptures by artists on several roundabouts in the municipality.

According to Ramos, the Consistory has an obligation to reclaim the money embezzled responsible for the damage caused to the municipal coffers in the context of this case, which has been called to testify as a defendant the exconcejal Planning, Fernando Berberena.

The mayor of the training municipalist explained that this case, together with others such as Umbra, "shows that the Planning Department was an opaque space where private business was conducted during the years of office of Miguel Angel House".

The current corporation has, in the words of Ramos, who "fully expose that stage, demanding financial compensation corrupt and curbing a situation which has already done enough damage to the citizens of Murcia."

As set out a preliminary investigation, the City Council awarded 214,000 an artist to devise a sculpture and make a sketch, a mock marquetry and Styrofoam.

The installation was carried out by the construction company La Generala, although the contract included the complete installation of the sculpture by the artist.

In addition, a payment of the sculptor to a gallery owned by a friend who in turn is brother of Berberena investigation.
