History of Art students and teachers today celebrated the patron of silversmiths (26/11/2015)

Students of Art History at the University of Murcia, along with teachers, today welcomed the festival of San Eloy, patron of silversmiths, which finally would start a program that has also included conferences, roundtables and presentation a book on the art of silverware.

Today's ceremony has begun in the Merced campus, where students and teachers have gone in procession to the church of San Bartolome de Murcia, where an image of San Eloy work of Salzillo is venerated.

In the temple, the steward of San Eloy, José Miguel López Castillo, delivered the opening speech, proceeding then to the holy offerings and the signing of an agreement with the Foundation Cajamurcia edition of the book.

In this course we celebrated the twentieth anniversary of this celebration, which was recovered by Professor of Art History at the University of Murcia Jesus Rivas Carmona.
