The City filed with the Ministry of Telecommunications, a pioneer in the field of ICTs applied to governance and citizen services project.
The aim is to recruit up to eight million euros to streamline public services in the city
The Board of Governors approved the application for aid to the 'Second Call for Smart Cities of the Digital Agenda for Spain', of the public company Red.es establishing the city of Murcia compete with other capitals in Spain attracting state funds for innovation in public services, within the project Smart Murcia.
Thus, Murcia will present in the coming weeks, with the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and the Information Society, a pioneering project in the field of new technologies applied to governance and citizen services, with which seeks to capture up to eight million euros intended to optimize public services in the municipality.
The initiative will combine Smart Murcia, through strategic planning, governance, innovation and public participation, to improve the quality of life of people and achieve a more efficient and competitive in the various public services management through digitalization and interconnectivity.
Murcia is the capital of Spain and seventh as a leader in Smart Cities initiative.
There has been great progress in the efficient management of energy, water, waste and urban mobility.
Therefore, from the city of Murcia, through the Department of Administration Modernization, it comes to this call with a solid project to convert to Murcia in a city pioneer in community level initiatives in developing Smart.
The aid program for the development of smart cities of the Digital Agenda for Spain, convened by the Public Enterprise Red.es, address the following objectives: to produce savings and efficiency improvements in public services, promote innovative projects, promote interoperability with different administrations and agents, providing the potential for reuse or replication in other entities, promoting metrics that focus on citizen satisfaction, identify quantifiable commitments and apportioned savings and technological spaces creating interoperable ICT environments.
