The South Coast this year join the pool and El Palmar with high-capacity road, bike path and sidewalks for pedestrians (31/08/2015)

The Mayor and the Minister of Development this morning visited the works in which it has invested nearly 6.8 million euros.

The three sections that are running conditions optimize traffic flow, pedestrian and cyclist, getting comfort and road safety.

José Ballesta stresses the improvement involved in such actions on the quality of life of citizens.

South Coast, once it is fully completed, will connect eight districts, from San Gines to Torreagüera, along 11.2 kilometers.

The villages of La Alberca and El Palmar will be connected by the end of the year through a new high-capacity roads, bike lanes and sidewalks for pedestrians.

The communication will be possible after the end of the implementation of the second phase of the South Coast, whose works have visited this morning the Mayor, José Ballesta, and the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, accompanied, among others, by Councilman Development, Roque Ortiz, and the Director General of Roads, Jose Antonio Fernandez Lladó.

The section that is running is 2100 meters long and has involved an investment of nearly 6.8 million euros, financed by the Autonomous Community.

It has three branches, two of which join El Palmar and pool with two lanes in each direction, bike path and sidewalk, and a viaduct over the A 30 light 39 meters to support one of the roads and self-supporting arch.

The third tranche, which links the towns of El Palmar and San Gines, has a single carriageway with two lanes, one for each direction, bike path and trees.

Its construction will allow for better connections to the motorways A 30, MU 30 and MU 31 and the future Highway Reguerón.

Visited the works today constitute the Phase II of the overall project of the South Coast.

On completion before year-end, they will be added to the other 3,6 Km and operation of the first phase, made with a budget of 8.5 million euros.

Thus, in the coming months, the road will open to traffic 5.7 kilometers between San Gines, El Palmar, La Alberca and Algezares, and will be pending the final planned phase, which will continue until Garres, San Jose de la Vega , Beniaján and Torreagüera.

The Mayor, José Ballesta, stressed the unifying character of this action, which will have a direct impact on the quality of life of Murcia.

"This is the responsibility of those who are at the forefront of it assures institutions, develop projects and implement initiatives that have significant effect on the welfare of the citizens."

This is how it is understood, for example, the construction of this new road "to retrieve the towns of the districts for their neighbors, causing traffic to flow through faster and safer roads.

People can enjoy its streets, squares and gardens, while the cars leave the road. "

At the same time, the South Coast offers a comfortable and appropriate levels of protection to get from one location to another walking down sidewalks or bicycle, segregated by bike lanes.

Finally, the Mayor emphasized the "excellent results" are achieved through collaboration between governments and institutions.

The construction of the South Coast, as it is with the North Coast, is a clear example of this, because it is of important strategic works that are funded by the Autonomous Community, while the project and monitor the process has fallen to Urbamusa.
