The Governing Board supports projects 8 social partnerships to improve the quality of life of Murcia (01/07/2015)

Eight associations working on improving the quality of life for people who need more social care have received the approval of the Governing Board to develop its charity projects today.

These are the proposals presented by the Federation of Murcianas Associations of People with Physical and Organic (FAMDIF / COCEMFE), Spanish Red Cross, Foundation Manuel Maria Vicuña, Traperos Association Emmaus, Telephone of Hope, Spanish Association Against Cancer, Widows Association and Association Salzillo Platform for the Promotion of Volunteering.

The agreement with FAMDIF / COCEMFE aims to promote accessibility and removal of architectural barriers that especially affect people with mobility problems and is part of the Council's commitment to convert to Murcia in a city 100% accessible.

Moreover, the Red Cross will receive 50,000 euros to provide medical transport in the foreseeable risk coverage in public events, festivals and sporting events in the city, especially in Spring Festival, Pilgrimage and Fair of Murcia, with the participation of volunteers entity.

The agreement approved by the Governing Board to sign with Manuel Maria Vicuña Foundation aims to develop the project of "listening center, reception and accommodation for women at risk of exclusion", amounting to 12,000 euros.

With this initiative, the Foundation aims to facilitate the integration of immigrants into employment and family situation of uprooted women lacking to tackle the new tasks to be played in a different context of their origin.

To do this, users receive information and advice, find temporary shelter and a meeting between them and access to training courses basic computer literacy, social skills, elderly care home or work.

The draft "psychotherapeutic care and promotion of volunteerism" that promotes Ragpickers of Emmaus Association will feature the City 50,000 euros for its development.

This is accompanied in the process of social and labor incorporation to participants at least, -45 people in situations of social exclusion, serious risk or particular sensitivity with various performances, including accommodation in the shelter, assistance and social care , basic training, and occupational, employment and social integration companies.

Telephone of Hope will have 6,000 euros from the City Council to support its program of Promotion and Training of Volunteers, with the service provided by -Guidance permanent crisis intervention by telephone interview at headquarters or workshops- or promotion emotional health, personal and family or social.

Also the Spanish Association Against Cancer will have a municipal subsidy of 16,000 euros for the development of its annual project activities and the Association of Widows Association Salzillo or the Platform for the Promotion of Volunteering, which will aid 4,500 euros, to organize regional assembly, and 6,000 euros for the development of the work plan this year, respectively.
