Santa Teresa and Ibn Arabi, protagonists of Murcia Three Cultures Festival (11/05/2015)

Murcia Three Cultures Festival joins the commemoration of the V Centenary of St. Teresa of Jesus and the 850 years of the birth of Ibn Arabi with holding two concerts held in the Romea Theatre and the Fine Arts Museum Patio.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 12, at 21 am, will be staged 'Dwellings jondo', a show created especially for the Festival Murcia Tres Culturas.

'Dwellings jondo' is adapted to flamenco poems of Santa Teresa, a milestone in the history of flamenco and spiritual music in general that consolidates one of the most important sections of the Festival: the festival premieres.

The selection and literary adaptation of 'Dwellings jondo' is the flamencologist Antonio Parra, who has worked on a wide range of styles.

For its part, will Curro Piñana voice for the first time these poems that together with the instruments, venture into the mining songs, soleá, tonás, and fandangos, among others.

The concert will be accompanied by the great guitarist Francisco Garcia, the teacher Miguel Angel Orengo percussion, the cello Pinar Dew and Alvaro Martinez violin.

Furthermore, this year marks 850 years of the birth of Ibn Arabi and the Murcia Festival Three Cultures joins the anniversary with the premiere of The Travels of Ibn Arabi, a show of the group Ensemble Popular Mediterranean dedicated to travel the Sufi mystic place during her life.

The work is a musical fresco created from the historical and social conditions that outlined the life and work of Murcia wise.

The concert will be held on Wednesday May 20 at 20 pm in the Patio of the Museum of Fine Arts, it is divided into six rooms or suites to the Andalusian way (Nuba).

The music was composed by Salvador Martinez, singer and musicologist, adapted to a current sound and contemporary music resources.
