Ruben Juan Serna, candidate of Union Progreso y Democracia mayor of La Glorieta, notes that "Murcia can and must be a reference from the point of view of tourism at national and international level", both for its archaeological, artistic, cultural heritage and natural, "as a differentiator as gastronomy".

So, Serna points out that "we have the best products, the best raw materials and great professionals," so it is committed to promoting the City Council this.

In his view, this should be done "not only through restaurants, but with schools, attracting the best" and "boosting university research related to nutrition."

Serna made the remarks in separate campaign events that have taken place in Murcia and in the town of Puente Tocinos, within the campaign # 15días54pedanías, which also involved the regional candidate, César Nebot.

"The Murcia culinary tourism, is still in development, is something that tourists more demanding and they most admire."

In terms of tourism "it is one of the great tasks that lie ahead and we want to perform as policy makers."

"We must harness the potential and attractive heritage tourism, which together with the gastronomic and climate allow the seasonality of the sector and be an engine of growth and development for Murcia."
