The Archaeological Museum of Murcia celebrates the eighth anniversary of its reopening with workshops, music and a tour'extraordinaria' (14/03/2015)

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities celebrated the eighth anniversary of the reopening of the Archaeological Museum of Murcia with a series of special activities including children's workshops, special guided tour 'Ride with surprises along the MAM', live music and presentation the latest addition to the collection, large stocks of Roman anchor Guardia Civil has regained some spoilers, whose origin is unknown.

Among the activities planned for the whole family, children's workshops are scheduled this weekend: 'The magic of hunting' and 'Coins and Legends'.

These educational activities are aimed at children aged 9-12 years, will take place from 11:30 hours to 13:00 hours.

On Sunday, the extraordinary visit 'Ride with surprises along the MAM' will be held.

The tour will begin at 12:00 am and will last 90 minutes.

This itinerary analyzes the stratigraphic profile that reflects an excavation, located at the entrance of the Museum or invites the public to locate, in the recreation of an Iberian dwelling, pots and utensils that can be seen in the windows.

It also offers the public to play a series of aftershocks of archaeological materials as falcatas (swords), flint tools and ceramics, among other objects, or locate the model of Cartagonova various elements of the city.

The hall of the MAM will host the concert 'Works only of each instrument' under the Fourth Cycle Music Museum and will be performed by students of the Conservatory of Music of Murcia.

The concert will take place on Monday and will begin at 20:00.

Joining MAM Collection

The activities to commemorate the opening of the Museum is closed with a conference on Wednesday at 20:00 pm in the auditorium, which will be announced the latest addition to the collection of the MAM: a trap Roman anchor.

The piece is cast in lead, measured 1.15 meters and was recovered by the Civil Guard.

The origin of this piece and the place where it was found is unknown, since it was seized from a few spoilers for the Meritorious and delivered in trust to the Museum for retrieval, analysis and future exposure.
