The Plenary urges the CHS to collaborate in the project to restore the river Segura, by building islands and informative signage (26/02/2015)

The Plenary of the Municipal Corporation unanimously adopted a motion in which the river Segura basin (CHS) is urged to cooperate with the City in the project carried out with the Southeastern Association of Naturalists (ANSE) for environmental and landscape recovery of the Segura River.

The municipal groups ask the Segura basin river its contribution to collaborative project of the City of Murcia and ANSE, by signaling with environmental information in those sections of the stocked river that allows to know the biological richness of the environment to thousands of Murcia who Buttes used annually as a leisure river.

The city of Murcia and the Association of Southeast Naturalists (ANSE) are working on a project for environmental and landscape recovery del Segura as it passes through the town of Murcia River.

This project consisting of various native species plantations of the riverbank, cataloging tree specimens of environmental interest of the banks and adjacent ditches and conducting surveys that have detected the presence of important species such as otters, eel, calamón or Jewish cane.

This work is highlighting the importance for biodiversity maintains the Segura River and the degree of recovery that has occurred in the quality of its waters in recent years.

It is also asks the CHS that includes in its draft environmental recovery of the river Segura conducting a series of artificial floating islands that serve as natural habitat and shelter for protection against predators, and as a nesting and breeding chicks for recovery of the species of common birds of the runway as it passes through the city of Murcia.
