The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, this morning attended the opening of the XIV Shows Volunteering organized by the UCAM, which will run until next Sunday in Alfonso X. The fair is part of the program of the International Conference of Charity and Volunteering "Development and Women", which was inaugurated yesterday and held in the framework of the European Year of Development, V Centenary of St. Teresa of Jesus.
The aim of this event is to present volunteering through associations, organizations and groups working in this field in the Region of Murcia.
The ceremony held this morning has also attended the Bishop of the Diocese, José Manuel Lorca Planes;
the President of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza;
responsible for Social Welfare and Health, María del Carmen Pelegrin, and Education, Lola Sanchez, and the Director General of Social Policy, Veronica Lopez.
The Mayor wanted to support with their presence this sample in which it discloses the important work of volunteering in the town in all areas.
A work can be seen in this show that, in his opinion, "is a reflection of the solidarity of society Murcia, which caters to those who need it most, and that is tolerant and respectful of all."
House has praised the many "murcianas associations and entities involved in volunteer work both in the region and elsewhere to help people who require such care."
The exhibition features 50 booths associations, among others, Caritas, Astrapace, Jesus Forsaken, Famdif, ADANER, Sisters of the Poor, Red Mother or Family Forum.
