The National Congress of Young Art Historians honor of Professor Christopher Belda (24/02/2015)

Emeritus Professor of the University of Murcia Cristóbal Belda will be honored at the Second National Congress of Young Historians of Art, organized by the educational institution from today until next Friday.

The meeting, which will be officially opened tomorrow, Wednesday, at 9:30 pm in a ceremony presided by the rector of the University, José Orihuela, in the Monumental San Juan de Dios city of Murcia, will be dedicated to " Art in Europe and America in the territories of the Bourbons of the eighteenth century. "

The inaugural conference will correspond to Alfonso Gutiérrez de Ceballos, the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, who will speak of "Art and Architecture of the Jesuits in South America."

The program includes lectures by professors Miguel Angel Castillo (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), who will speak about "Bourbon reformism and construction of cathedrals in Latin America," and Jesus Urrea (University of Valladolid), who will deliver a presentation on " sculpture court in transit to the eighteenth century. "

In turn, those of Ignacio Henares (University of Granada) on "Humanism and Enlightenment in the eighteenth century artistic thinking in Spain" and Alfredo Morales (University of Seville) about "Painting perspective in Seville Baroque" which It will also laudatio who say the teacher Belda.

The Congress will also have a memory for the recently deceased professor at the University of Murcia and UPCT Elías Hernández Albaladejo, whose figure will be glossed in the closing conference.

The various communications will take place at the headquarters of San Juan de Dios, Antonio Soler Aula of the University of Murcia (Merced campus), Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of the Cathedral.
