Open days and scientific activities at the XXVIII edition of the Week of Biology (20/02/2015)

The rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, and the Minister of Industry, Tourism, Enterprise and Innovation, Juan Carlos Ruiz, inaugurated on Monday the week of the Faculty of Biology, now in its twenty-eighth edition.

During the same open days for elementary and high school will be held, with the aim of awakening scientific vocations and publicize the different courses taught at the center.

These sessions will include various scientific activities, in which issues such as DNA inheritance, the tiger mosquito or biodiversity of the Region of Murcia will be addressed, among others, plus guided tours of the Museum José Loustau, located in the Faculty visits.

It was also conducted lectures on "Women and Science: my research experience," Margarita Salas, or "History of Biology through the microscope," Professor of the University of Valencia José Pertusa, among others.

In the opening ceremony, also attended by the Dean of the Faculty, José Meseguer, and the director of the Week, Alfonsa Garcia Ayala, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the Regional Biology Olympiad and the competitions scheduled during This event (posters, Biological-Centum Photography and Drawing School).
