The concept of Smart City are having a discussion this Saturday, February 22, with the workshop Smart Cities, organized by the Department of Environment and parallel to the exhibition project Smartcitizens activity, which can be seen at various points in the city of Murcia.

Of all the concepts used for the definition of a "smart city", the one that fits is what defines it as "we consider a smart city when investments in human and social capital, traditional communication infrastructure ( transport) and modern (ICT), promoting sustainable economic development and a high quality of life, with wise management of natural resources through participatory government ".
The workshop will take place Verboestudio proposes a participatory journey that is structured into three main points:
The workshop will begin with a theoretical presentation, define and enter, participants of the workshop, the features in a smart city, which also serve as first thought
The second part consists in the realization of an urban stroll through the city.
On this tour the tools acquired in the previous theoretical presentation will be used.
After the walk, a review meeting was held at the Artillery Barracks, located in the Barrio del Carmen de Murcia, in order to draw conclusions and to generate citizen proposals that enrich the concept of Smart City applied to the city of Murcia.
