The Murcia I prison adds to the diffusion of World Rare Disease Day (17/02/2015)

The Association for Rare Diseases D'Genes will develop a national pioneer in a prison to mark World Day for Rare Diseases experience.

For one week will develop activities in Murcia I Penitentiary that will allow the prison population awareness of the importance of living with a rare disease and needs to move three million people with rare diseases have in our country.

In this way, I will develop the training cycle "Rare diseases in prison" which will start tomorrow with the opening of the photo exhibition "The full rare disease of life" which allows walking along sixty images courtesy of photographer Juan Manuel Martínez Casanova reality of what it means to live with a rare disease and to present some of the more than 7,000 rare diseases known.

Next week will be held also a painting competition under the theme "Hope in rare diseases", and a workshop of literature and poetry recital Javega coordinated by Antonio Jiménez, Association of Psychologists for change, allowing reflect on the hope and the importance of helping people with diseases of low prevalence.

This first cycle activities on rare diseases will end on Wednesday of next week with the screening of the film "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly", whose protagonist suffers syndrome captivity.
