The new health center South Murcia guarantees next, affordable and quality health care (17/02/2015)

The investment exceeds 5.1 million euros, of which 3.7 million were funded by the Autonomous Community and 1.4 million were transferred sun by the City.

The center was opened this morning by the President of the Autonomous Community and the Mayor.

It is the sixth sanitary equipment that opens this term in Murcia: four health centers and two offices, which will add one more in the coming days

The new health center opened this morning Murcia Sur ensures a close and quality healthcare users who will use from now on.

The President of the Autonomous Community, Alberto Garre, presided this morning the opening ceremony, which was also attended by the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, the Councillor for Social Welfare and Health, María del Carmen Pelegrin, the Minister for Health and Policy Social, Catalina Lorenzo, and the presidents of the municipal boards of St. Pius, Santiago El Mayor, Patiño and Barrio del Progreso, whose population will serve.

The construction has required a total investment of 5.1 million euros, of which 1.4 correspond to the value of the land ceded by the City and the remaining 3.7 million, funded by the Autonomous Community, are intended to work and equipment.

The building, located between the streets General Ortín and Morera, has an area of ​​4,343 m2 on two floors and is sized to meet the expectations of future population growth.

The basic health area of ​​Murcia Sur serves a population of 21,400 people, of which 12,800 belong to the new health center, clinic 3,750 to 4,850 Patiño and the doctor's Barrio del Progreso.

Construction of the new equipment comes from the splitting of the basic health area of ​​Murcia-Infante Juan Manuel, and includes St. Pius X, Santiago El Mayor, the Barrio del Progreso and Patiño.

The primary care team consists of 24 people who provide services in family medicine (8), nursing (7), pediatrics (2), physiotherapy (1) midwife (1) Administrative Assistants (4) and nursing (1).

The building has three floors.

At low queries of pediatrics (3), pediatric nursing (2), priests (1), diagnostic techniques (1), extractions (1), minor surgery (1), nursery room, care visit are located at the woman, multipurpose room, physiotherapy (1) and cinesiterapia (1).

On the first floor 11 queries family medicine and nursing 9 plus waiting rooms, classroom teaching and boardroom are distributed.

Meanwhile, the basement houses the storage and parking.

Actions to improve the quality of life

Despite the "obvious economic difficulties" in recent years, the City Murcia and Regional Government have continued to collaborate to carry forward "necessary to Murcia enjoy a quality healthcare, close and accessible investment."

The opening of the offices of Santiago El Mayor rises to 67 health facilities existing primary care in the municipality, of which 25 are health centers and 42 peripheral clinics.

In the last three years have opened health centers Aljucer, San Juan and Floridablanca and clinics Lobosillo and Sangonera la Seca.

To this will be added in the near future the Rincon de Seca.

The City Council, meanwhile, remains committed to improving primary health care contributing to the maintenance of the network of peripheral offices of the municipality, currently composed of 42 centers.
