The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning has handed over the keys of a social rental home in the neighborhood of La Paz to a family with four dependent children.
The general director of Architecture, Housing and Land, Yolanda Munoz said after delivery, this department "is working to provide social housing for the poorest families. In total, up to 24 million euros will be spent this year to achieve that objective, representing a quarter of the investment effort that will develop the Ministry ".
The Ministry of Development, through the Directorate General, manages a social housing stock of about 2,900 in the Region of Murcia, of which about 2,000 are on lease.
Yolanda Munoz said that "such measures demonstrate the commitment of the regional government's social policies, and will always be next to those most in need. We will continue to promote actions aimed at the most vulnerable and those most in need , related to access to housing, social support specific support and monitoring in order to ensure their integration in society ".
The various aid from the Ministry in social housing are directed to the rent subsidy, grants for housing rehabilitation measures for the eradication of slums, regeneration of degraded urban environments and promotion of public housing stock.
Muñoz said that "if we talk about rights, housing, social status and law, can not simply be an asset's market. A part of the action and of public resources should be allocated to facilitate access to decent housing ".
