The RCxB reaches an agreement with Alsa for transporting bicycles on buses (13/02/2015)

Bicycle users can transport their vehicles from now when traveling on buses Alsa.

The agreement of the Network of Cities for Bicycle with this company has been one of the points agreed today at a meeting of the board of RCxB held this morning in Barcelona chaired by the Mayor of Murcia and president of the network, Miguel Angel House.

A similar agreement is currently being negotiated with ADIF.

It is important agreements to promote intermodality and responsible, sustainable, environmentally mobility and committed to the fight against climate change.

Another decision taken at today's meeting was the renewal of the agreement with the Administrative Managers to continue promoting the Biciregistro, which aims to promote the use of this means of transport, help to decrease theft and facilitate the recovery of bicycles in anywhere in Spain, in case of loss or theft.

Managers who wish may become "validators" of biciregistro, through which bike owners have a system that gives them security against theft and against any consequences arising from civil liability.

Also, the RCxB develop a national barometer of perception and cycling in Spain, which will reveal the statistics regarding user type, age, reason for use, frequency, etc.

In addition, several cities, among which is Murcia, perform a local barometer to analyze data at the municipal level.

Moreover, the board pointed holding Bicity.org next week organized by the RCxB in collaboration with Enviroo, a meeting between entrepreneurs, mentors and professionals who work to transform business ideas into viable businesses that favor the use cycling in cities.

The event, which takes place from February 27 to March 1 in Madrid, serve to introduce innovative ideas on the bike.

The RCxB, created in 2009 and chaired by Murcia since 2011, includes more than a hundred cities that share a commitment to turn the bike on a daily urban transport mode.

It is therefore essential to move forward on important aspects such as the design of a network of cycle routes, the traffic calming or increasing security and would enhance the reduction of theft and facilitate the recovery of bicycles in case of loss or theft.
