3,500 jobs have submitted elementary students of 11 schools in the municipality to the fourth edition of the drawing competition organized by the city to mark the International Day of Peace.
The initiative is promoted by the Department of Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, who runs Alicia Barquero, sponsored by the Cajamar Foundation.
The Mayor has delivered this morning the prizes to the winners in the various categories, which have included school supplies for students, including several cases of colors, markers, crayons, drawing sheets and pens, plus framing the work of each prize .
The event was also attended by the Councillor for Education, Lola Sanchez and Pedro Antonio Vidal, Commercial Director of Cajamar.
The contest aims to promote creation and artistic expression and bring children values ​​education, especially non-violence, peace, tolerance and respect for human rights.
The School Day of Peace and Nonviolence is commemorated every year on 30 January since 1964 at the initiative of the poet and pacifist Mallorcan Llorenç Vidal Vidal and coincides with the anniversary of the death of Gandhi.
The contest invited to design an ideal world under the slogan "All are necessary" to do painting the elements considered necessary to achieve this.
