Neighborhoods and districts of Murcia take to the street carnival parades (09/02/2015)

More than 1,000 people parade in El Carmen on Friday 13 |

Murcia live more intensely carnivals each year: festivals that transcend our geographical area such as Cabeza de Torres, recognized throughout the region and which has a century-old tradition, dating back to the late nineteenth century, and dotting our parishes as Beniaján Torreagüera Patino, El Palmar and others where residents participate massively.

Los Barrios de Murcia take to the street parades and brass bands and celebrate the feast the next few weeks with colorful parades and contests.

Social groups, schools, associations, are involved in this event which is becoming one of the most symbolic of our town.

Particularly striking is the Vistabella, which celebrates its tenth anniversary, after his birth in 2005 and efforts of a group of neighbors, led by the president of the Municipal Board, Rafael Gómez.

This work has resulted in the growing number of extras, that if in 2005 had only one, and reach the figure of eleven, will parade the next day 21 through the streets of the neighborhoods of Fame, Vistabella and La Paz, bringing together more than 600 people, will parade from Centrofama the Garden of Palm Avenue I in May.

Submit collectively these celebrations is to give greater prominence to this tradition that comes from a very murciana tradition that has historically course not just a party and an escape for the daily chores, but support for economic and tourism growth.

Therefore, the City of Murcia supports all these socio-cultural patterns that represent the wisdom and are expressions of the concerns of our neighbors.

If importantly carnival Vistabella it is not least the Barrio del Carmen, whose poster has been produced with selected drawings from those made by the school of the 6 schools of the district, as well as travel and groups involving the Friday 13 from the Artillery Barracks.
