The Blessing of the Silkworm Seed dating from the nineteenth century: in those years the huertano craved the arrival of the first days of March, to collect the seed that was saved in their barracks in order to be able to bless and get a great harvest in the campaign was about to begin.

By then the huertanos united in a pilgrimage to the Ermita de San Antonio El Pobre, passed by the sericulture station La Alberca and gathered the Christ of Forgiveness, Patron of Torcedores and Silk Weavers, who was there guarded, to thereby achieve Ermita together and celebrate a mass campaign in which they proceeded to the blessing of the seed.

In other years it has also become mass at the Convent of Santa Catalina del Monte.

La Peña Huertana La Seda in 1975 and after many years of inactivity, reflects the tradition and proceeds to bless, year after year, the seed of the silkworm, today we celebrate the 40th anniversary of that first pilgrimage with the same enthusiasm with which began this journey.

The blessing was held for several years in Santa Catalina del Monte because the Ermita de San Antonio the Poor was in very bad condition -there has since returned to the city of Murcia's rehabilitated in 2006.

The image of Christ of Forgiveness in this pilgrimage belonged to the sericulture station, which was founded in 1892 on the road to El Palmar.

In 1912 he moved to La Alberca.

Station disappeared in 1977, members of the rock alberqueña recovered the image of Christ, which has since custodian at its headquarters.

They are the ones who care to encourage the blessing of a crop that is supported by the efforts of a few.
