Read classic texts to highlight our Greco-Roman heritage (04/02/2015)

On Thursday February 5th, starting at half past ten, under the slogan "I know my heritage, are you?"

reading Greek and Latin classics in the Hall of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Murcia to highlight once again the validity of the rich legacy of ancient Greece and Rome in Western culture is performed.

The event is open to anyone interested in languages ​​and Greek and Latin literature.

As has happened in the two previous editions.

The activity will take place in most of Secondary Schools in the region and in many other places in Europe and America.

Participants will be able to send texts chosen by themselves or read some of which are available to those wishing to participate, and which will be provided by students graduated in Classics and Masters in History.

In addition to the readings, is expected to have two brief theatrical interventions and a performance by a group of Master students and participation of professors from the Faculty of Arts, Secondary schools and students of the degree of Degree in Classical Philology.

Professor at the University of Murcia Diana De Paco Serrano is the driving force behind this initiative, whose inauguration speeches by Vice President of Communication and Culture José Antonio Gómez Hernández, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Pascual Cantos Gómez;

Director of the Department of Classical Philology, Maria Consuelo Alvarez Moran, the President of the Spanish Society of Classical Studies (Section of Murcia), Maria Teresa Beltran Noguer, and Francisca Moya Bath, alma mater of studies of Classical Philology at the University Murcia.
