Welfare commitment to the most vulnerable groups with more than 26.4 million to care for elderly, disabled and people at risk of exclusion will (26/11/2014)

The Department of Social Welfare, headed by Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, with a budget for 2015 amounting to 26.4 million euros has been marked as a priority maintaining attention to elderly, disabled and families in situations of exclusion.

For this affects the maintenance of attention and care for the elderly and dependent people through services provided in the home, in order to ensure continuity in their usual environment of coexistence measures that strengthen domestic care and staff.

Essential services such as home help, Family Respite, Food at Home and Telecare and intervention in cases of risk from extreme temperatures are maintained.

In providing these basic services the Municipal Government allocates the amount of € 6.5 million self-financed.

Currently, an average of 7,000 people throughout the year benefit from one or more of these services.

Note that only home help lend an annual average of 350,000 hours of service and Telecare 10,000 procedures are performed;

beneficiaries Meals at home were served an average of 70,000 menus per year.

Moreover highlights Day Care Centers, located in Barriomar, Beniaján and Cabeza de Torres with a total coverage of 100 seats, with an annual municipal investment of € 1,000,000 with the financial participation of the Autonomous Region for higher recognized by System Care Unit.

MUNICIPAL SERVICE OF SOCIAL SERVICES

The current budget expenditure amounted to € 5,620,857, 1.82% more than in 2014, mainly due to the increase in the budget line for emergency aid aimed at families in social need and children at risk, which will have a budget of € 2,550,000 (€ 2,405,000 in 2014).

More than 4,000 people will be treated in host resources, with more than 40,000 overnight stays.

About 7,000 people will access social services area, where 240,000 service breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided.

URBAN ACTION INITIATIVE FOR HOLY SPIRIT-2015

The project strategy is the renewal of the neighborhood of the Holy Spirit using culture and citizen participation as key to boost their overall development factors.

Remodeling of physical space.
