Traper @ s of Emmaus is open to tours on site overlooking Los Ramos (24/10/2014)

The first visiting team this season is a group of 30 school CEIP "New Schools" El Palmar, participants in the municipal program "Murcia, ecology of a city."

With this visit, they have explored the importance of reusing and recycling for our environment and to describe the intense work carried Traper @ s for 19 years in the social and labor field with people at risk of social exclusion in Murcia .

The tour starts at the entrance to the site where an overview of all the facilities of the estate, and the diversity of waste management activities conducted therein is given.

The journey allows to know the uniqueness of the work in the workshops and spaces in which the collected materials (electronics, carpentry, metalwork, hazardous waste, clothing, household goods, bulky, etc) to its final disposal process, either through shops - traces for direct sale to the public, or in warehouses for transfer to companies specialized treatment.

The walk also discloses community life, and the spaces of everyday life of the people involved in the project: the main house or the garden are key principles on which articulates the everyday elements of our business.

The route is an important educational and playful approach, encouraging group participation throughout its development, and promoting solidarity attitudes towards people, and responsibility towards the environment.

So Traper @ s Emmaus is open to all entities who want to see first hand how the project works in general and its various aspects, as well as the services offered, or the potential for collaboration in their development.

Trape @ s Emmaus Murcia started in 19952E In these 19 years of activity, the project has grown, expanding its capacity to act in different areas of social intervention, employment and sustainable waste management, and overcoming new challenges .

Currently operates throughout the region, especially in the municipalities of Murcia and Molina de Segura.

This has the facilities of Los Ramos (community, workshops, warehouses and store / flea) and Murcia (store / flea market in the Barrio del Carmen), as well as a number of suitable vehicles for the collection of materials in homes, institutions and businesses, plus a team of about 60 people (worker @ s, specialists and volunteers) in 2013 Traperos Emmaus has collected 1,118,284 kilos of material between paper and cardboard, furniture, clothing, raees, human collective etc.

of which 91.4% were recycled and reused 6.8%
