160 people assisted Unit Emotional and Psychological First Aid in the first three months of operation (29/05/2014)

The Psychological First Aid Unit of Civil Protection has asserted itself in the complete care of emergencies in just three months.

During this time their psychologists and technicians have attended 160 people who have given them emergency psychological assistance in potentially traumatic situations all the high emotional impact that may cause the event to the patient's relatives, witnesses or involved in the same .

So, on five occasions have involved traumatic or sudden deaths in other five have been requested by some morgue, and has worked in two suicide attempts, three cases of domestic violence, fourteen anxiety disorders for reasons other eight accidents three communication of bad news.

Thus the effectiveness and operability in joint actions with other units of Civil Protection and Local Police and Fire through its direct activation is demonstrated, as this psychological care team works when the emergency is over and we have to help those suffering damage to emotional, psychological, mental level.

The type of intervention is so diverse and broad that, although some protocols, the unit can not adhere to them directly because all cases are different and people react differently.

The unit has 8 psychologists, 8 technicians, and nurses in constant training in emergency psychology.
