Three Cultures in the streets and for all ages (10/04/2014)

The Arab, Christian and Jewish cultures retake the streets of Murcia this spring, with an extensive program that brings music and art, dance and theater to our places of passage.

This edition will involve artists from over 20 countries.

The proceedings of Murcia Three Cultures Festival will take place in squares, streets, gardens and historic monuments that allow viewers to live closely and participate in this year with a vengeance.

Types selected for the Festival-Sephardic, jazz, sacred, Celtic, Andalusian ... music - ranging from the pure forms of the traditions and references to the participating countries, to mergers and latest trends.

Most of the shows are held outdoors, taking advantage of the warm spring nights, in public spaces, for its heritage and tradition are deeply linked to the history of the city and the essence of this Festival.

New for this edition are scheduled concerts in areas with the greatest capacity for the general public, such as University Square and the Cathedral.

In addition, the cycle is over Entredanzas tables Romea Theatre, an ideal to contemplate in all its splendor the great variety of rhythms that come this year to Murcia space.

Again, after four years, the University Square returns to the concert stage for the younger age groups, where they will dance to the rhythm of jazz, high life, funk and hip hop.

The Cathedral will host two concerts of Sacred Music festival premieres.

The interior of the monument with its sound feature will provide these recitals.

The choice of Algeria as the guest in this edition of the International Festival XV Murcia Three Cultures is motivated by being one of the iconic culture of Muslim countries.

The raï music is a typical musical style in Algeria, so much so that it was recognized by the Algerian government in 1985, after being censored by their ideology and liberal lyrics and reviews.

The raï, which in Arabic means 'opinion' is for young Algerians what hip-hop for Americans to Western rap or reggae for Jamaicans.

Responsible for opening the XV Festival Murcia Three Cultures are Algerian Samir & Fanfaraï Inal, who revived the tradition of festive street formations that inspired the important events and rituals in the

Maghreb of the century.

'Pearls of raï' is the suggestive title of the concert that opens the music section of the festival for the first time also in the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga, like the closing concert to deliver the highest capacity possible.

One of the most important points is that of the Festival Premieres section, and where classical musical works and performances created or prepared for the occasion arise.

First, Hims Mola & Symphonic Band will perform the sacred concert Molina Missa Brevis for Revelation of Jacob de Haan, a written Choir and Band, work commissioned to commemorate the thousandth anniversary of the birth of Pope Leo IX.

The second release is in the hands of the hands of the coral Ensemble and University Choir concert Murcia Symphoniae Sacrae.

Ellika-Cissokho-AIDS will be responsible for mixing music from places as diverse as Sweden, Mexico and Senegal.

Consolidated as the great tolerance and miscegenation, the Feast of the Three Cultures with the participation of numerous musicians, singers and dancers from many different countries and cultures who occupy the squares and streets of the city of Murcia from 20 pm on Friday 23 May to Saturday 24 May 24.

This year the party responsible for hosting the Performing Arts is the Teatro Circo Murcia with The Call, a musical about faith, with a live rock band and original songs.

A comedy about the passage from adolescence to adulthood, about friendship, and waking, starring winning a Goya award, Macarena García.

The Murcia Three Cultures Festival was born fifteen years ago with the goal of creating a meeting point between peoples and civilizations through art forms, with tolerance as a reference.

The music and dance, along with other activities, make a rich programming which aims to strengthen ties between cultures, in a time when the need to achieve solidarity among peoples has not lost its validity.

Murcia, a city known for its generosity, becomes every year on the big stage of this cultural crossroads, which aims to spread a message of tolerance, peace and respect among peoples, and remembering the happy years that copies coexisted in this Mediterranean city in total harmony Christians, Jews and Muslims.
