Vodafone delivers tailored computers for students with disabilities at the University of Murcia (15/10/2013)

This morning, the rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, and Alberto Sanchez Hernandez, representing Vodafone Spain Foundation, have been delivered art computer equipment and software tailored to students of this educational institution with different disabilities .

These teams are intended to reduce the effects of disability on academic performance and standardized access to digital content, tools and resources as their peers.

The ceremony took place on the campus of Mercy, in the framework of the fair stands of the Home University, in which the services of the University of Murcia provide information on its activities to the freshmen.

The delivery is part of the campus accessible, signed by both institutions last April to promote universal access and inclusion at the University of Murcia and promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities during their college stay.

In this sense, the University of Murcia in Spain is higher education center with the highest proportion of students with disabilities in their classrooms, more than 1,000 this year.

Vodafone Spain Foundation is a nonprofit institution that contributes to the promotion of innovation and the use of ICT to improve the quality of life of people and especially facilitate the social integration of vulnerable groups.

For this, among other activities, is involved in technological innovation projects aimed at national and European research new mobile communications applications that make life easier for dependents, elderly and chronically ill.
