The UCAM rounds the first day (04/04/2013)

Mireia Belmonte, Melanie Costa and Yerai Lebón add 5 gold medals each in the Championship of Spain University swimming

The Catholic University of Murcia has finished in first place in the overall standings after the first day of the Swimming Championship in Spain held in University facilities Inacua (Murcia).

Mireia Belmonte, Melanie Costa and Yerai Lebon, all swimmers UCAM, lead the individual medals 5 gold each.

The double Olympic medalist Mireia Belmonte, had added three golds in the morning session to those who joined the gold in 400 freestyle and the 4x50 styles.

Melanie Costa also added that gold in relief, with two in 100 free and 200 back in the afternoon session.

Lebón Yerai fulfilled prognosis and won the 100 free and achieved another gold in the men's 4x50 styles.

Also of note is the performance of other swimmers who achieved UCAM medal in the afternoon session: Jessica Vall (100 breaststroke and gold in the relay), Margarita Dominguez (relay gold, silver and bronze in 400 free in 100 free), Juanmi Rando (gold in 100 backstroke and relay), Fernando Morillas (gold in 200 breaststroke, relay gold and bronze in 400 styles) and Salvador Parra (silver in 200 breaststroke).

With these results in the afternoon session, the UCAM ends the first day with 26 medals: 17 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze.

This result allows you to lead the overall standings with 613 points.

Second place is for the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (435 points) and third place is for the University of Granada with 360 points.
