IU-Greens: The budget establishes the failure of the PP model for public transport (23/11/2012)

The IU-Greens spokesman in the city of Murcia, Esther Herguedas, said today that the budget for the Department of Transportation establishes the "failure" of the model by which the PP has opted for public transport.

To Herguedas, the budget is "a declaration of intent that the Department does not intend to make changes to a municipal policy areas in which the PP government team has shown the most resounding failures."

Herguedas stated that "the landscape of public transport in the town could not be more bleak" and, in this regard, stressed "the relevant powers distributed between two opposing administrations, a service run by private concessionaires different unrelated , high prices, overall UNIBON disappearance of flat rate and an increasingly cut service and poor who suffer both users and workers of enterprises ".

"In the field of transport is not required but a reorientation continuity model" has secured the mayor, who has also held that "in times of crisis they face is not the time to consider a new extension of the tramway platform that will end all funding the Murcia under our taxes. "

Municipal workers bear the brunt of the crisis

United Left Greens in the city of Murcia believes that wage cuts stemming both from the rules applicable to all officers as the council itself additional cuts made to the readjustment of the days of fire and police marked the budget on personnel, so much of the consequences of the crisis pay municipal workers.

The spokesman of the leftist coalition, Esther Herguedas, also criticizes the maintenance of a large number of workers with social collaboration and believes that no effort is being agreed to extinguish this type of contract, "which is rather exploitation, it denies basic rights to workers ", and convert them into ordinary contracts.

It also reports that since there is no municipal control over working conditions and wages of workers dependent on the companies that manage outsourced municipal services.

Thus Herguedas commented that unequal treatment between companies working for the city, as some have renegotiated their contracts downward and others, among which is the cleaning contract, tax collection, exploitation of Terra Natura or private sports facilities maintain their budget.

"This is important because companies end up impacting the sales contract on wages and this unequal treatment between companies ends up also in unequal treatment of workers," he qualified.
