The celebration of this House child, coordinated by the Department of Education, is part of the set of activities that are part of the Week Memorial Children's Rights and girls Murcia City Council held every year.

In 1959, the United Nations adopted the "Declaration on the Rights of the Child" which included 10 principles, but only implied a moral obligation, so the November 20, 1989 adopted the "Convention on the Rights of the Child", whose compliance is mandatory for all signatory countries, including Spain.

The 54 articles of the Convention can be grouped into four categories of rights and guiding principles that are the foundation to become a reality.

These include: non-discrimination, adherence to the interests of the child / a, the right to life, survival and development and the right to participation.

This year the students have deepened on one of the Convention rights least known, "the child's right to participation", which means "collaborate and cooperate to make common progress", and generate in children and youth self-confidence and initiative initially.

Child participation places children as social actors with the ability to express their views and decisions on matters that concern them directly in the family, school and society in general.

Participation does not happen by itself, but is a gradual process that evolves with age and experience.

If the child is conceived as a permanent participation in relation to adults, and should be considered as a process of mutual learning for both children and adults.

Therefore it is considered that training participation is a process that begins in early childhood, in the nursery, garden, home, community, ie in everyday spaces and closer to the child.
