The new chairman of the Board of the University of Murcia, José Manuel Martínez, has made available to this institution and the region in general his experience as an entrepreneur during the inauguration ceremony held today at the Convalescence building, which houses the Rectorate .

Martinez has said he will try to "be effective and efficient" in economic and "worthily represent 'society at the University of Murcia.

Salvador Huertas, who has served as acting chairman of the Council for almost a year and a half has stressed "the great tune that has been guiding the successive" in his years spent as a member of the body and the members of it have always prefix general interests of individuals.

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Juan Bernal, stressed the "deserved academic prestige" of this educational institution and worth of the members of the university community, while highlighting the contribution that the university for ending the crisis.

The Minister for Universities and Research Company, José Ballesta, has intervened to say that the development of any society is due to his university, and praised the work done by Martinez in front of Mapfre.

At the inauguration ceremony was also attended, among other authorities, the presidential adviser, Manuel Campos, and the government delegate, Joaquin Bascuñana, together with the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Jose Antonio Franco.

After the formal ceremony, Jose Manuel Martinez has chaired the first plenary session of the Council, in which Salvador Huertas said goodbye to this body and which have been adopted public prices of different activities and the distribution of 94 scholarships of collaboration between university departments.
