The new library of the Pond, located on Calle Pintor Gómez Cano, now has new furniture.

The mayor has stated that "This new facility adds to the extensive network of municipal libraries, consisting of 17 centers, in which the City makes improvements and introduces works continuously to promote culture, education, reading and the use of these quality public spaces for citizens. "
The new space has a floor area of ​​620 square meters, compared with 177 square meters of the former library, located in Martinez Tornel Square of La Alberca.
In addition, the new facility has room for children, study room, computer room and multipurpose room, independent.
El Corte Inglés is the company responsible for furnishing the new space with the following equipment:
-Multi-purpose room, 30 chairs with folding shovel for writing and video projector.
Child-room, two tables of two different heights and 30 study places.
-Sala juvenile / adult, three tables with eight seats each, and two computers for public use.
-Multiteca / room internet access, 10 stations with 8 computers and 2 iMac.

The new library will have 112 posts.
The tables are finished in cherry, with white legs and shelves are painted white metal.
The new library has large windows, although crystals have filtered sunlight, roller blinds will be placed to screen natural light.
The library also has electromagnetic anti-theft system and a closed circuit television, to avoid sustraciones.
Also put a mailbox outside the library in order to allow readers to return books, movies, CDs for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This system is already used successfully in the library of James.
The new library will be the only municipality to have a showcase in which the funds will be presented and developments in order to attract the public.
Once the furniture is fully assembled the funds be transferred from the old library, consisting of 14,817 documents (books, sound recordings, films, etc.) as well as the collection of newspapers and magazines.
Shelves, tables and chairs for the old LIBRARY be used in other municipal offices.
