The Day Centres continue to provide care for the elderly of the village in summer (08/08/2012)

The older enrolled in Day Care centers Beniaján, Cabezo Barriomar Torres and continue to receive personalized assistance also in summer.

Councillor for Health and Social Welfare, María del Carmen Pelegrin, visited this morning the center of Beniaján to make contact with users.

A total of 130 older people receiving care and day care in day centers in the municipality.

Throughout the summer months also offer assistance.

Thanks to the three day centers in the municipality-Barriomar, Beniaján and Cabezo de Torres, older people can access new features that improve socio quality of life.

Day centers provide health care to improve the health and welfare of consumers, geriatric treatment.

Besides serving food and nutrition, so that the elderly have a balanced diet.

So are provided breakfast, lunch and snacks with special diets.

It also offers fitness and physical therapy, personal care services, psychological care, social care, occupational therapy support and intervention with families and accessible transportation.

The team that comprehensively responds to the needs of users consists of a coordinator, a geriatrician, a social worker, psychologist, ATS, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, geriatric assistants and service personnel .

A Day Care Center is a social resource of extraordinary importance because it guarantees coverage for basic care and attention needed by dependent elderly without their families feel the pressure and limitations involved in your care and sometimes difficult to reconcile the commitment of the senior care with work.

This feature allows you to maintain integration in family and social environment and facilitate coexistence and foster relationships, to provide families that serve the elderly a break from this responsibility so that this does not become too burdensome and damaging dynamics rest of the family, while decreasing income residences.
