The Department of Employment Murcia City Council is working on developing a market study to identify opportunities that generate employment in the tourism sector in the vicinity of the Huerta de Murcia.
The report has been hired by a grant from the SEF, in collaboration with the INFO, the Department of Tourism and the municipalities of Sewer, Beniel and Santomera, which is the geographical area that is part of the Local Employment Committee Huerta de Murcia .
The study was performed within 6 months and will include the participation of agents of Employment and Local Development and cooperation of local actors, institutions and associations.
Once completed, it will create a design of tourism products, new tourist routes in the area of ​​the Huerta de Murcia and activities.
The objectives are:
- Generate economic activity and employment in the field of tourism in the area of ​​the Huerta de Murcia, integrated tourism policies in the region and the Spanish tourism strategies.
- Develop tourism products.
- To identify specific actions and activities and sustainable tourism in the short term that do not require large investments or new infrastructure, and involving job creation.
- Designing tourism products, create new tourist routes and develop complementary activities to enhance the attractiveness of 'Destination Murcia'.
- It provides for the creation of tools to assist the creation and marketing of tourism products and conducting a conference to disseminate the results of the study in the municipality of Murcia, to sensitize the public and private sectors of the importance of tourism to economic development.
Councilman Employment, Trade and Enterprise, José María Tortosa, attended the presentation of planning this study, along with leaders of the councils of Santomera, Sewer, INFO, SEF, and Agents of Employment and Local Development Sewer, Beniel, Murcia and Santomera.
