Rating CROEM registered unemployment in July 2012 (02/08/2012)

Registered unemployment chained the fourth straight month of declines in Spain and in the Region of Murcia.

However, July has also recorded a significant drop in the number of members of Social Security and has increased the pace of job losses.

Specifically, according to the Ministry of Employment, July 144,548 registered unemployed in the region of Murcia, 675 less than in June (-0.5%), a rate very similar to the national average (-0.6%) .

In contrast, annual total counted more than 14,288 unemployed in the same month last year.

This is an increase in unemployment of 11%, a rate less unfavorable than the Spanish average (12.4%).

Uneven sectoral performance

In a desgolse by sector, Construction (-318), Industry (-240) and especially the group without previous employment (1054) were those who contributed to reducing unemployment in July.

In contrast, accounted for a greater number of unemployed Agriculture (+463) andservices (+474), the latter sector, which truncates the good behavior that had been showing since March.

Compared to the same month of 2011, but construction seems to have stabilized the number of unemployed (11 more than then), while growing strongly in Services (10,839), Industry (1667), Agriculture (+885) and people without previous employment (+886).

Based on sex and age, both men (-306) and women (-369) reached similar records, with a sharp decline in under 25 (2120) is not repeated in those over that age (1445).

Also, the number of unemployed fell to 21,711 foreigners, which is 288 less than in June and 804 a year ago.

More employment, less busy

In June, formalized in the Murcia region contracts 52,998 (3,729 indefinite), 9.6% over the same period in 2011 which represents the highest growth among the various regions, but that was not enough for the net creation of jobs.
