Murcia is situated at the head of the Smart Cities (27/06/2012)

Murcia chairs the working group on energy, drive projects such as smart public buildings or the promotion of energy efficiency and sustainability in business.

Murcia is part of the capital driving the transformation process of cities in Smart Cities.

Thus, participated this morning in Valladolid at the general meeting and inaugural meeting of the Spanish Network of Cities Smart (RECI), an organization that brings together almost thirty municipalities committed to technological advances, united by the desire to build sustainable cities and able to provide citizens with better services at lower cost.

It is, therefore, to seek social and economic progress through innovation.

To achieve this, the willingness to share experiences and work together so that the progress made by a city be transferred to the other, thus optimizing resources and save costs.

The proceedings are conducted in various areas, including energy, mobility, environment, sustainable urbanism.

The general meeting held today has been represented in the cities of Alicante, Burgos, Cáceres, Castellon, Cordoba, Guadalajara, Huesca, La Coruña, Logroño, Lugo, Madrid, Malaga, Murcia, Palencia, Pamplona, ​​Rivas Vaciamadrid, Sabadell, Salamanca, Santander, Segovia, Valencia, Valladolid, Vitoria and Zaragoza.

The RECI began to take shape a year ago with the signing of the "Manifesto for Smart Cities.

Innovation for Progress ", in order to create an open network to promote the economic, social and business cities through innovation and knowledge, focusing on information technology and communication.

Murcia, the host city

A commitment that followed, the celebration in Logroño founding session and two sessions of work and preparation in Corunna and Murcia.
